Cool findings. Even with the guidelines and policies put in place, social media has proven to be profitable to those hospitals that engage consumers online.

Hi,

I am currently pursuing my Masters degree and have decided to do my thesis on Social Media Marketing. I was wondering if there is any way I can get access to the whole report.

Hi Karen! I think social media is still so "new" that employers are trying to figure out how to make it all work. As you've said, there are ways around firewalls and blocked sites; this can potentially increase problems with network security. Since social media is becoming the norm anymore, I think more employers will become more lenient over time with social media use at work. Employees just need to use it in moderation, and I think there will be a good middle ground between employers and employees!

There's always a way around blocked websites, and employers should understand. Example: ControlByMail at www.vic2pc.com, which is what I use to view my Facebook page at work, even though Facebook is officially "blocked". They should just unblock it for our use such as lunchtime, etc.
